Gandhi through the Lens of an Artist:Drawings of Raju Baviskar Siby K.Joseph  Artist  Raju Baviskar Raju Baviskar is  an artist from Jalgaon who is engaged in depicting the many faces of Gandhi  after a lot of reflection and studying Gandhi. This is not the first time  he is  depicting Gandhi’s life and work.  On canvas,  he made a very emotional picture of Mahatma  Gandhi  after the passing away of Mahadev Desai and Katurba for the exhibition of Gandhi Research Foundation, Jalgaon .  All his drawings during the Corona period indirectly portrayed Gandhian themes.  He was in Sevagram Ashram  during the Anandshala Camp for school children in 2022. Image
Week of Action: 16-22 September 2024 No Money for...  No Money for Nuclear Weapons: 16-22 September There are 91.4 billion other things money could buy  Nuclear weapons programmes divert public funds from health care, education, disaster relief and other vital services. The nuclear-armed countries spend more than $173,000 per minute on their nuclear bombs, over $90 billion each year. Meanwhile, the companies producing these  weapons of mass destruction  and their investors make billions in profit each year. That is why, from September 16 to 22, 2024 people all around the world are coming together with one clear message:  “No Money for Nuclear Weapons!” What can I do? Nuclear weapons affect all of us, so it’s up to all of us  to push back against the absurd sums of money wasted on nuclear weapons. And this week of action is an opportunity for all of us to speak out. Why do we need a week of action?  Nuclear weapons are the only devices ever created that have the capacity to destroy all

Who is Vinoba Bhave? M.K.Gandhi In 1940, Vinoba Bhave was selected by Gandhi as the first individual satyagrahi. He was not well known nationally when Gandhi selected him for individual satyagraha. Gandhi had issued a statement on October 5, 1940 introducing Vinoba. The following is the text of Gandhi's  introduction of Vinoba  Bhave. He is an undergraduate having left college after my return to India in 1916. He is a Sanskrit scholar. He joined the Ashram almost at its inception. He was among the first members. In order to better qualify himself he took one year's leave to prosecute further studies in Sanskrit. And practically at the same hour at which he had left the Ashram a year before, he walked into it without notice. I had forgotten that he was due to arrive that day. He has taken part in every menial activity of the Ashram from scavenging to cooking. Though he has a marvelous memory and is a student by nature, he has devoted the largest part of his time to spinning in
