National Workshop on Mahatma Gandhi and Vasudaiva Kutumbakam

One day National Workshop on Mahatma Gandhi and Vasudaiva Kutumbakam ' was organized at B.K. Birla College on September 28,2024. The programme was organized by the Gandhi Study Centre of B.K. Birla College, Kalyan funded by University Grants Commission, New Delhi. The programme was held at the Seminar Hall of the College.  Dr. Mahadev Yadav, Vice Principal of the College welcomed all the guests and dignitaries. Dr. Archana Singh of the College gave a brief introduction of Dr.Siby K.Joseph, Director of Sri Jamnalal Bajaj Memorial Library and Research Centre of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan Wardha   chief guest speaker of workshop.Dr.Siby Joseph succinctly analyzed the vision of Vasudaiva Kuttumbakam referring to Maha Upanishad Chapter 6.verse 72.He also explained how it has been used by politicians of different hues and colors catering to their interest. Gandhi’s approach was catholic and he considered the whole of humanity as one family. Therefore, it would be befitting to unravel Gandhi’s vision of Vasudaiva Kuttumbakam.Dr. Naresh Chandra, Director of Education, B.K. Birla Mahavidyalaya, Kalyan  also spoke at the session . The inaugural session was conducted by Dr.Shyamsundar Pandey, Director of Gandhian Studies Centre of the college and the inaugural session concluded with expression of gratitude to guests and dignitaries. It was followed by technical sessions focusing on various aspects.
