  Brief Report of the Foundation Day Programme of Sevagram Ashram  April 30,2023 On 30 April 1936, Mahatma Gandhi settled in Segaon basically to understand the problems of the countryside, its development and to serve the people by living among them in a remote village without having basic facilities. Initially, he did not want to build an ashram here and he stayed in a makeshift arrangement in Seagaon. But his work began to take a wider form and the Ashram was in  the making in  the course of time. It became major centre for promoting village industries, basic education and constructive activities and nonviolent action.Though Mahatma resigned from the Congress all important decisions of      freedom struggle including the launching of India Movement were taken from here.   30 एप्रिल 1936 सेगाव येथे आश्र माची स्थापना ३० एप्रिल २०२३ सेवाग्राम आश्रमाचा ८७ वा स्थापना दिन डॉ. सिबी के. जोसेफ , संचालक, श्री जमनालाल बजाज मेमोरियल वाचनालय आणि रिसर्च सेंटर फॉर गांधीयन स्टडीज, सेवाग्राम आश्रम प्रतिष्ठान,   वर्धा-442102, महाराष्ट्र     भारताला ब्रिटीश राजवटीपासून स्वातंत्र्य मिळाल्यावरच आश्रमात परत येईन, अशी प्रतिज्ञा घेऊन गांधीजींनी अहमदाबाद येथील सत्याग्रह आश्रम १२ मार्च १९३० रोजी सोडला आणि ते दांडी यात्रेसाठी निघाले   येरवडा तुरूंगातून सुटल्या वर २३ सप्टेंबर १९३३ रोजी गांधीजी वर्धा येथे आले. जमनालाल बजाज यांच्या बजाजवाडीतील निवास स्थानी ते वास्तव्याला होते. त्या नंतर ही जागा स्वातंत्र्य लढ्यातील कामगार आणि नेत्यांसाठी राष्ट्रीय अतिथी गृह बनले. पुढे ७ नोव्हेंबर १९३३ ला येथूनच त्यांनी आपल्या हरिजन यात्रेला सुरुवात केली. ७ ऑगस्ट १९३४ ला गांधी जी पुन्हा वर्ध्यात परतले आणि येथील विनोबा भावे यांच्या सत्याग्रह आश्रमात मुक्काम केला . तो आता महिला आश्रम म्हणून ओळखला जातो. याच काळात गांधीजींनी भारतीय राष्ट्रीय काँग्रेसमधून निवृत्त होण्याचा निर
