Observance of International Day of Peace and announcement of IFPNP

On the eve of International Day of Peace Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan  at the  Seminar hall of Library and Research of  Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan  the participants of Gandhi Darshan Camp  and the dignitaries present on the occasion observed a minute of Silence at 12 noon on September 21, 2024. Through this symbolic observance they became a part of global observance of Global Peace Day with a Moment of Peace at Noon in every Time Zone. After the observance, Dr.  Siby K. Joseph informed as the Global Peace Day Theme of 2024 is Cultivating a Culture of Peace it is befitting that Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan and other associating partners   announce the online international fellowship programme on nonviolence and peace and invites the applications from different continents.  IFPNP -III is being organized by Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan, coordinated by Sri Jamnalal Bajaj Memorial Library and Research Centre for Gandhian Studies in association with Gandhi International, Academic University College for Non-Violence and Human Rights-AUNOHR, MGM University and International Centre of Nonviolence, Durban University of Technology. The academic sessions will be organized from October 2, 2024 to January 30 2025. This is the third consecutive term Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan is announcing IFPNP on the Global Peace Day. Prof. Somnath Rode, Trustee, Mr. Vijay Tambe, Secretary, Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan, teachers and students from various Universities were present on the occasion.

  False Social Media Propaganda against Gandhi : A Factual Analysis    Siby K. Joseph     A false propaganda against Gandhi is gaining momentum through social media in connection with the allowance for the upkeep of Gandhi as a State Prisoner in 1930 by the British Government. Usually this type of propaganda coincides with Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday or martyrdom.  I received   a WhatsApp message a couple of days back from a person associated with a Gandhian organization for quite a long time.  I noticed that this message was forwarded many times.  It is as follows: “Finally, that letter was found in national records. In 1930, MK Gandhi was getting ₹100 per month from the British for personal expenses. At that time, the market price of 10 grams of gold was ₹18. Workshop sessions on Gandhi and Community Living

Workshop on Community  Living   and   Gandhi’s vision of Ashram On  18 th of July 2024 two workshop sessions were organized on  the following themes. The first one was Gandhi and experiments in Community Living and second one was his vision of an ashram .It was held    at the premises of Library and Research Centre of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan, Wardha. The workshop sessions were guided by Dr. Siby K. Joseph, Director of the Centre. It was conducted for a small group of enthusiastic young fellows from different parts of the country with varied interest and expertise . They are connected to Youth Alliance, New Delhi and Ritambhara, Kotagiri. The programme started with a brief introduction of participants. It was followed by a presentation of Dr. Siby K.
