 Visit of Secretary to Govt. of India, Ministry of MSME Shri S C L Das, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India   visited MGIRI, Wardha and Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan on  October 30, 2023. Smt. Ashaben Bothra  President, Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan welcomed him and the accompanying  team  to the Ashram in the afternoon. She  explained to them  the activities of the Ashram and emphasized the importance of preserving  the ashram   in its original form. Shri. Rahul Kardile, IAS, District Collector of Wardha and other officials were accompanying the team. Shri S C L Das wrote his impressions about the Ashram in the visitor’s diary.

Presentation on Khadi and Sevagram Ashram at  ODOP meeting   On  October 20, 2023, Mrs. Navya Chhabra and  Mrs. Smiti  Saxena, members of Invest India team  visited Wardha for  the verification of  ODOP ( One  District  One Product) award Nominations. The team visited important cotton producing units in Wardha district .   Shri Rahul Kardile , District Collector  ,Shri Kamleshkumar Jain, in charge,  General Manager, District Industries, Centre, Wardha ( Industries Officer) and other officials  accompanied the team.  In the evening a meeting was organized at the office of District Collector for document verification.   Tributes of  Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan Wardha Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan paid its loving tributes to Shri Pradeep Khelurkar . A condolence meeting was organized Seminar Hall of Yatri Niwas to  pay respect to the departed soul on October 27, 2023.  Smt. Ashaben Bothra President of  Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan, Wardha presided over the condolence meeting. In her address,  she  shed  light on the  unique personality whose  accidental death was not only a great loss to the Sevagram Ashram but also to Gandhian fraternity at large. She briefly narrated her reminiscences  with him . The heads  of various departments of the Ashram also  paid  their loving respect to him and everyone  was in tears while talking about him.   Follow-up  Meet of Gandhi Collective Trainees  of Sevagram Ashram  at Payyanur ,Kannur                                                                  October 15, 2023 The meeting of the two groups  of Gandhian Collective who attended the training programmes at Sevagram  Ashram was held  at Payyanur Arogyaniketan on October 15,2023.About 60 people participated in two Sevagram training programmes, but only 20 could participate in the  gathering. The programme started  with sharing of experience in Sevagram ashram.They explained  how the  visit to Sevagram  influenced their own thoughts and very  attitude towards life . October 2 Programmes

  Programmes of 154th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Various programs were organized by Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan on 2 October 2023 to mark the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The programmes began in  a  traditional way  at 5.45 am   with  Ramdhun from Ghantighar  of  Nai Talim premises to Bapu Kuti. Sarva dharma Prathana was organized in front of Bapu Kuti at 6.00 am.  Continuous  spinning programme also started   from 6.00 am  and continued up to  5.30 pm in the veranda of Bapu Kuti.  After prayer residents, associates and staff members engaged in community cleaning at  the ashram premises. Prof. Yogendra Yadav, noted academic activist and Convener of Bharat Jodo Abhiyan, New Delhi was the keynote speaker of the public meeting at the Ashram. Release of the book Gandhian Values Reviewed in Post Independence India

  Book Release A  book viz.Gandhian Values Reviewed in Post independence India through India Novel: Englishand Hindi ( 1947-2000) was  also released at the public meeting in front of Bapukuti on October 2, 2023. The book was written by Dr. Persis Latika Dass Associate Professor and Head, Department of History, Sophia Girls’ College, Ajmer, Rajasthan . It was  awarded a publication grant by Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi. It was published by Rajasthani Granthagar, Jodhpur in 2022. ISBN 978-93-91446-01-7. Dr. Siby K. Joseph, Director of Library and Research Centre  of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan  introduced the author and book to the audience  and requested Prof. Yogendra Yadav and other dignitaries on the dais to release the book. Dr. Persis Latika Dass in her reply speech after the book release function summarized key findings of the book especially the deterioration of Gandhian values in the era of globalization.

Which Gandhi should I follow ? Reflections on Gandhi Jayanti Day Yogendra Yadav  Standing in front of Gandhi's Bapu Kuti in Sevagram, Wardha on the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, I started thinking. Which Gandhi should I bow to or follow ? That bespectacled saint who peeks from the corner of Government advertisements? Or the philosopher with the spinning wheel who hides in the library and seminar? Or that activist Gandhi  of Champaran who is gathering dust in the country and wandering on the streets? Gandhi is present everywhere in today's world. Gandhi in speeches, Gandhi in books, Gandhi in museums, Gandhi at crossroads, Gandhi on currency notes, Gandhi in five star hotels, United Nations ,Gandhi in India and Gandhi in G-20 also. This omnipresence of Gandhi should not be a matter of celebration but of concern.
