Shri Vijay Tambe addressing National Atheist Conference at Sevagram Reflections on Atheism Vijay Tambe "All of you, Jay Jagat. I am the secretary of Sevagram Ashram, this is a fact, but still, I have been given the opportunity to speak here as a representative of the Ashram. I will not advocate for the Ashram, I will express my own thoughts. I have 15 minutes, so I will present seven points to you. 1. First point: By choosing Gandhi's Sevagram campus for this program, you have acknowledged that it is not necessary to be an atheist to advocate for the rights of the oppressed, to fight for the rights of minorities, and to demand overall equality. 2. Second point: Gandhi was 100% theist. He first considered God as truth, and then considered truth as God. He believed that there is something that is beyond human control, and by practicing it, one can gain clarity of thought, become more perfect, noble, and pure.
