Visit of Gopinath Muthukad to Sevagram Ashram

 

 Shri Gopinath Muthukad renowned   magician and recipient of Merlin Award for Magicians and his team members   as a part of “Inclusive India ”awareness campaign aimed to promote social inclusion of persons with disabilities, covering over 22,000 kilometres and 40 locations from Kanyakumari to Kashmir visited Sevagram Ashram on October 14, 2024. It was organised by the  Different Art Centre, in partnership with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Shri Muthukad  a motivational speaker Celebrity UNICEF Supporter  recipient  Kerala Sree Award visited Sevagram after a gap of twenty two  years. His first visit was  a part of Vismaya Bharat Yatra (2002).  It was taking inspiration from Sevagram he undertook Gandhi Mantra in 2005. Dr. Siby K. Joseph welcomed him to Sevagram Ashram. He shared from his archival collections the photographs taken at Sevagram with Dr. Joseph and others and also magic performance in front of Bapukuti in the presence of  the District collector and other dignitaries. He also visited the library and Research Centre.  He interviewed Dr. Siby K. Joseph for a documentary at the Ashram.
