Visit of Foreign delegates to Sevagram Ashram

 

A group 24 foreign delegates from National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur came to Sevagram Ashram   on 23rd October 2024.  They were participants of a course on "Taxation in E-Commerce Industry" organised by NADT from 14th-25th October 2024 in collaboration with The Ministry of External Affairs, under Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme.  On request from the Dy. Director (P&R), National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan arranged a guided visit to the different departments of the   ashram and heritage buildings. The group also visited the library and research centre premises of the ashram and Held discussions with Dr. Siby K. Joseph, Director of the Centre about the historical significance of ashram and contemporary relevance of Gandhi. The participants were from Tajikistan, Egypt Uganda, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Maldives and Nigeria. Shri Pankaj Kumar Sahu from NADT Nagpur was instrumental in coordinating study visit.

  False Social Media Propaganda against Gandhi : A Factual Analysis    Siby K. Joseph     A false propaganda against Gandhi is gaining momentum through social media in connection with the allowance for the upkeep of Gandhi as a State Prisoner in 1930 by the British Government. Usually this type of propaganda coincides with Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday or martyrdom.  I received   a WhatsApp message a couple of days back from a person associated with a Gandhian organization for quite a long time.  I noticed that this message was forwarded many times.  It is as follows: “Finally, that letter was found in national records. Workshop sessions on Gandhi and Community Living

Workshop on Community  Living   and   Gandhi’s vision of Ashram On  18 th of July 2024 two workshop sessions were organized on  the following themes. The first one was Gandhi and experiments in Community Living and second one was his vision of an ashram .It was held    at the premises of Library and Research Centre of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan, Wardha. The workshop sessions were guided by Dr. Siby K. Joseph, Director of the Centre. It was conducted for a small group of enthusiastic young fellows from different parts of the country with varied interest and expertise . They are connected to Youth Alliance, New Delhi and Ritambhara, Kotagiri. The programme started with a brief introduction of participants. It was followed by a presentation of Dr. Siby K.
