Gandhi and Gramophone

Celebrating 151 years of Mahatma Gandhi  with 151 minutes

Gunijankhana pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by revisiting his memories through gramophone records.

There are some very rare gramophone records in this film that throw light on various facets of Gandhi. Understanding Gandhi through the music he loved is a fascinating experience. We know Gandhi a lot better when we know his music.

Shri Madhukar Upadhyay, Professor Ashutosh Sharma, Smt. Sujata Prasad and Ms. Shreyasi Jha take you through this journey.

Shri Rajesh Kumar Shrivastav has exclusively created the theme paintings and sketch for this film.

Gunijankhana is trying to use gramophone records as an important source of history.

Archives used in this film are from the Gramophone Concert Records & His Master's Voice Records (Gramophone Company Ltd.,) Hindusthan Record (Hindusthan Musical Products and Varieties Syndicate ltd.), Columbia Records (Columbia Gramophone Co.), Young India Records (The National Gramophone Record Manufacturing Co.
