Nonviolence Advocates Association: Address of Siby K Joseph


 

Nonviolence Advocates Association, the Gambia organised a training programme for its executive members on May 11th and 12th , 2024. The venue of the programme was Creative Art Studio, Farato. The programme included both online and onsite sessions. The Upholding of Positive Power Dynamics in an Organization, Understanding the Correlation between Nonviolence and Peace, The ability to be Nonviolent within ourselves and how to use it to change society for better Gandhism, Trauma and Stress Management.  The key facilitators of the programme were Dr. Siby K. Joseph, Prof. John  Chelladurai Prof. Michael Sonnleitner,  Mr.Ousman Samba  and Mr. Mbaye Mballow.

 

Dr. Siby K. Joseph , Director of Sri Jamnalal  Bajaj Library and Research Centre for  Gandhian Studies of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan , Wardha addressed the participants on virtual mode on the theme  What Strategies can be used in Connection with the Conflict Transformation Framework to improve the Upholding of Positive Power Dynamics in an Organization on May 11, 2024.  Before the commencement of the session Dr. Siby K. Joseph had a dialogue with Mr. Mbaye Mballow, President of Nonviolence Advocates Association about projects and also about the International Fellowship Programme On Nonviolence and Peace (IFPNP) . Mr. Mbaye Mballow greatly appreciated  the IFPNP programme of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan   and the challenges of the members of Nonviolence Advocates Association due to poor connectivity in his country. He welcomed Dr. Siby K. Joseph to the programme and asked the Nonviolence Advocates Association team to conduct the proceedings of the programme. In his presentation he introduced the theoretical framework of terms concepts like Conflict Transformation, bases of power, power dynamics positive and negative and the strategies to uphold the positive power dynamics in the organization. The participants and organisers highly appreciated the presentation.
