Study Visit of Officer Trainees of 77th Batch of Indian Revenue Service of NADT, Nagpur to Sevagram Ashram
It was followed by a guided visit to the ashram . A brief history of the ashram including the role played by the ashram in the freedom struggle of the country and major initiatives of Mahatma from Sevagram were explained to them. They saw the heritage buildings and Khadi unit of the ashram. Shri Prashant Taksande narrated the work of Khadi Unit from the cultivation of cotton to production of Bapu Khadi of Sevagram Ashram.
After the visit, they assembled at the Seminar Hall of the Library and Research Centre of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan. An academic session was arranged to highlight the life and message of Gandhi from Sevagram/ Wardha. Dr. Siby K. Joseph, Director, Library and Research Centre of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan guided the session. It was followed by a question and answer session. Shri Sai Sandeep Kumar, Dy. Director (Induction) & ACD-I, 77th Batch IRS,NADT, Nagpur thanked Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan for facilitating the study visit . Shri Pradeep.S Jt. Director & Course Director of 77th Batch of IRS (Induction) presented a memento to Dr. Siby K. Joseph as a token of appreciation.
After lunch the group visited Acharya Vinoba Bhave's Ashram at Paunar as part of the study visit. The trainees were accompanied by the staff of National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur . The total number of participants were more than hundred persons.
