 Permanent Exhibition of Portraits of Mahatma Gandhi

Susheel Kumar Gotla, an artist from Hyderabad through his canvas portrayed ten paintings of Mahatma Gandhi depicting different moods in an effort to disseminate Gandhi through the medium of art. He thought the right place to show case his art work is the newly established Library and Research Centre for Gandhian Studies of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan,Wardha  which organizes various course of studies and host national and international events.  His association with the Sevagram Ashram started when he applied for a scholarship to do an International fellowship program on Peace and Nonviolence organized by Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan Wardha in association with MGM University Aurangabad, Sabarmati Ashram Ahmedabad and Gujarat Vidyapith. During this course Susheel was invited by Sevagram Ashram to participate in an international symposium on Gandhi and Beyond: Quest for a New World Order  in January 2023 and he made a presentation on his artistic works on Mahatma.  After obtaining his fellowship program in May 2023 Susheel decided to give tributes to Mahatma Gandhi by spending 40 days to prepare his paintings. Susheel  handed over his paintings to Dr. Siby  K. Joseph, Director of Library and Research Centre Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan on 14 July 2023. Dr. Sudharshan Iyengar, Former Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith  inaugurated the portrait exhibition of Mahatma Gandhi on the same at the Seminar of the Centre.   This exhibition attracted the attention of many persons. On September 8, 2023 this exhibition was permanently  kept at the reception area of Library and Research Centre  of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan . It will be formally inaugurated on October 2, 2023 coinciding   with  second International fellowship program on Peace and Nonviolence .
