Louis Campana, awarded with the 2008 Jamnalal Bajaj Prize for the promotion of Gandhian values outside India and as a member of the Ark of Lanza del Vasto (France), on behalf of Gandhi International (France), of which he is the founding president, wishes to protest strongly against the illegal eviction of the Sarva Seva Sangh from its premises in Varanasi on 22 July 2023 and the subsequent demolition of its heritage buildings on 12 August 2023.


These acts of violence were apparently carried out without any court order and in total disregard of the democratic principles that prevail in India, which claims to be the world's largest democracy.


It is very sad to notice that India has now been going through many assaults on the heritage of Gandhi, oftentimes to the benefit of capitalist interests and at the expense of the environment and future generations.


Gandhi International and its members call upon all Indian non-violent movements to intensify their non-violent struggles to oppose these anti-Gandhian acts, which endanger not only India's non-violent spiritual heritage but also the country's ecological balance, which is already very fragile due to the priority given to projects in the name of development.

  Preserve the Gandhian heritage at Varanasi July 22, 2023 is a red letter day in the history of   Akhil Bharat Sarva Seva Sangh , an institution which carries the heritage of Mahatma Gandhi   formed  soon  after his assassination by a Hindu fanatic. Pedalling all the way to Kashmir from Kerala   Reduce Carbon Footprint  through an Alternative lifestyle  Dr.Siby K.
