Visit of Research scholar from University of Lausanne
Athmanathan Indrajith Elangai Vendan, a Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships PhD student at the University of Lausanne and a member of the Walras-Pareto Centre for the history of economic and political thought, visited Sevagram Ashram on January 7, 2026. During his two-day stay for doctoral dissertation data collection, he visited the Library and Research Centre of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan. He held discussions with the Director of the Centre, Dr. Siby K. Joseph, regarding J.C. Kumarappa's vision of economics and peace. Their conversation also covered Kumarappa's association with Wardha and the establishment of the All India Village Industries Association. The researcher, who is currently focusing on Keynes’ and Kumarappa’s economic perspectives on World War I, was provided with PhD dissertations on Kumarappa, as well as soft copies of rare books and photos from the library's archival collection. He also visited other places connected with Kumarappa at Wardha . He also agreed to share some materials on Kumarappa to the archive of the library
