 The Global Gandhi Network organized a  virtual  International Peace Prayer Meet  on 27 April 2025 to pay  tributes to the victims of  Pahalgam, Kashmir and promote peace and unity . 

The virtual meeting  brought  together nearly two hundred  participants from across the world.  Participants were mainly from India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan,UK, USA,Mexico and other parts of the globe.  

The online meeting expressed  grave concern about the Pahalgam  terror attack which pierced the soul of  humanity where innocent civilians lost their lives. 

In the midst of the  tragedy,  the meeting underscored that peace must be  our response and we should stand together in prayer and solidarity holding in our hearts the memories of the innocent and families who mourn . 

Thoughtful reflections were made  by   distinguished personalities in the virtual meeting , including:  Shri Chandan Pal, President, Sarva Seva Sangh ,Prof. Anand Kumar, noted sociologist  and President Citizens For Democracy , Shri Ram Dutt Tripathi,  Former Correspondent of BBC and Sarvodaya Activist, Dr.  Anamik  Shah , former Vice Chancellor, Gujarat Vidyapeeth  Dr. Sudarshan Iyengar,Director, Gandhi Research Foundation,  Shri   A. Annamalai, Director,  National Gandhi Memorial Museum,Ms. Lubna Yasmin Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh  Dr.Siby K Joseph, eminent Gandhian scholar based at Sevagram 

Speakers  while paying  tributes to victims  emphasized the  need to  transform collective sorrow into  a resolute pursuit of peace  and prayer  followed by nonviolent initiatives  in this darkest hour. The spirit of Mahatma Gandhi will be our strength and guiding light.The gathering was enriched by soul-stirring musical tributes. Fraz Khan  presented  the heart touching Vaishnav Jana  To ,one of Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite hymns.  Sonia Deotto  and her team from Ora WorldMandala, Mexico, offered heartfelt prayers and reflections from across South America.  Dr. Prema Annamalai performed a moving Tamil devotional song.  Vaibhav Kumar rendered “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram,”a timeless Gandhian bhajan .

Prominent figures who graced the occasion included:  Ms. Medha Patkar, renowned social activist  Mr. Sam Pitroda, technocrat and policy leader   Mr. Uday Dandavate, Gandhian and urban strategist  ,Mr. Mohammad Reza Rafat, former Director of Environment Protection, Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, Mr. Vijay Tambe, Secretary Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan and many others.

 The meeting concluded with a firm resolve by the participants to organise similar programmes in their own localities and report it to the  Gandhi Global Network. At the end, participants  observed two minutes of silence to honor victims of violence and to express solidarity with affected families .

The Global Gandhi Network organized a deeply moving International All-Faith Peace Prayer Meet on 27th April 2025, to pay tribute to the innocent lives lost in the recent terrorist attack at Pahalgam, Kashmir.

The virtual gathering aimed to foster peace, unity, and non-violence in the wake of the tragedy.

The online event brought together nearly two hundred participants from different parts of the world — including India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UK, USA, Mexico, and others. Despite being continents apart, participants joined hands in a collective prayer for peace, demonstrating that humanity stands united beyond borders.

The meeting expressed profound grief over the tragic incident that shook the very soul of humanity, where innocent civilians fell victim to violence. Speakers emphasized that even amidst darkness, peace must be our answer. They highlighted the importance of standing together in prayer, solidarity, and the spirit of non-violence — ideals that Mahatma Gandhi devoted his life to.

ग्लोबल गांधी नेटवर्क की ओर से पहलगाम (जम्मू-कश्मीर) में आतंकी हमले के पीड़ितों की स्मृति में रविवार, 27 अप्रैल 2025 को शाम 7 बजे ऑनलाइन सर्वधर्म प्रार्थना सभा का आयोजन किया गया। इस वर्चुअल सभा में भारत, अमेरिका, कैलिफोर्निया, लंदन, कनाडा, बांग्लादेश, अफगानिस्तान सहित कई देशों के सैकड़ों प्रतिभागियों ने हिस्सा लिया। कार्यक्रम में गांधी विचार मूल्यों की समकालीन परिस्थितियों में प्रासंगिकता, अहिंसा, प्रार्थना और सामाजिक एकजुटता की शक्ति पर विचार हुआ। सभा में कई प्रमुख गांधी चिंतकों और समाजसेवियों ने हिस्सा लिया।

सर्व सेवा संघ के अध्यक्ष चंदन पाल, गुजरात विद्यापीठ के पूर्व कुलपति अनामिक भाई, गांधी रिसर्च फाउंडेशन के निदेशक सुदर्शन अय्यंगर, गांधी मेमोरियल म्यूज़ियम दिल्ली के निदेशक डॉ. अन्नामलाई, श्री जमनालाल बजाज मेमोरियल लाइब्रेरी एंड रिसर्च सेंटर फॉर गांधीयन स्टडीज के निदेशक सिबी के जोसेफ़ और बांग्लादेश सुप्रीम कोर्ट की अधिवक्ता लुबना यास्मिन ने सामाजिक समरसता और वैश्विक शांति को मजबूत करने की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया। वक्ताओं ने पहलगाम में हुए आतंकी हमले पर दुःख प्रकट करते हुए निर्दोष लोगों की हत्या को मानवता पर हमला बताया। साथ ही इस सभा में देश-विदेश के लोगों से समाज में हिंसा के विरुद्ध शांति और सद्भाव को बढ़ावा देने का आह्वान किया गया। वक्ताओं ने जोर देकर बताया कि राष्ट्रीय एकता आज की सबसे बड़ी आवश्यकता है, जिसका मार्ग महात्मा गांधी ने हमें दिखाया है।

सर्व सेवा संघ के अध्यक्ष चंदन पाल ने पहलगाम घटना के बाद देश में सांप्रदायिक उन्माद फैलाने की कोशिशों पर कड़ा ऐतराज जताया। उन्होंने बताया कि इस घटना को सांप्रदायिक रंग देना आतंकवादियों के मंसूबों को मजबूत करना है, उनके हाथों में खेलने जैसा है। इस ऑनलाइन आयोजन का संचालन करते हुए वरिष्ठ पत्रकार राम दत्त त्रिपाठी ने प्रारंभिक वक्तव्य में कहा – धर्म के नाम पर धर्म की पहचान कर हुई इस क्रूरतम हिंसा से समूची दुनिया शर्मसार होकर दहल गयी है। श्री राम दत्त ने कहा हम पीड़ित परिवारों के साथ भी अपनी हमदर्दी प्रकट करते हुए विश्वास करते हैं सरकार और समाज दुख की घड़ी में उनके साथ रहेगा।

गुजरात विद्यापीठ के पूर्व कुलपति अनामिक शाह ने इसे इतिहास की क्रूरतम घटनाओं में से एक बताते हुए कहा कि देश की नींव एकता पर टिकी है, जिसे बचाने के लिए सभी को एकजुट होना होगा। गांधी रिसर्च फाउंडेशन के निदेशक प्रो. सुदर्शन ने शांति और प्रेम का संदेश देते हुए आह्वान किया कि हर व्यक्ति अपने स्तर पर इस संदेश को नागरिक समाज तक पहुंचाए और छोटे-बड़े प्रयासों को निरंतर जारी रखे। इसके अलावा, चर्चित गीतकार फराज़ खान ने महात्मा गांधी के प्रिय भजन “वैष्णव जन तो तेने कहिये “ का सुमधुर गायन किया। ओरा वर्ल्ड मंडला, मेक्सिको की सोनिया देवतो और उनकी टीम योलान्डा सर्वेंट्स, रोसी री, फौद, अडुई, इरेन क्रूज़, विक्टर क्विंटाना ने दक्षिण अमेरिका से प्रार्थनाएं व शांति संदेश सभी के समक्ष प्रस्तुत किए।

इसके बाद प्रेमा अन्नामलाई ने एक सुंदर तमिल भक्ति संगीत प्रस्तुत किया। साथ ही वैभव कुमार ने “रघुपति राघव राजा राम” भजन गाया। इस वर्चुअल आयोजन में कई गणमान्य उपस्थित रहें, जिनमें प्रमुख रूप से सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता मेधा पाटकर, तकनीकी विशेषज्ञ व नीति निर्माता सैम पित्रोदा, गांधी चिंतक व शहरी रणनीतिकार उदय डंडवाटे, तथा अफगानिस्तान के गजनी प्रांत के पर्यावरण संरक्षण विभाग के पूर्व निदेशक मोहम्मद रज़ा रफ़त आदि लोग उपस्थित रहें। ग्लोबल गांधी के संस्थापक सदस्य विशाल शिवहरे कनाडा से ग्लोबल गांधी टीम के सदस्यगण जितेंद्र पुरी , विशाल शर्मा, विवेक कुमार साव भी उपस्थित रहें।

पहलगाम हिंसा के पीड़ितों की स्मृति में दो मिनट के मौन श्रद्धांजलि के साथ सभा का समापन हुआ। ग्लोबल गांधी ने इस अंतरराष्ट्रीय शांति प्रार्थना सभा के जरिए वैश्विक स्तर पर शांति और अहिंसा का संदेश मजबूत करने का संकल्प दोहराया ; जब विश्व में हिंसा बढ़ रही है, दुनियाभर से सैकड़ों आवाजें एकजुट होकर शांति और अहिंसा के लिए प्रार्थना कर रही थीं।
