Lectures for Teachers of Gandhian Thought

All India Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, New Delhi, National Gandhi Museum, New Delhi and Gandhi Memorial Museum, Madurai organized a higher level Orientation Programme for Professors of Gandhian Thought in the premises of Sevagram Ashram from February 28,  to March 2, 2025. The inaugural session of programme was held at the seminar Hall of Yatri Niwas. Dr. Siby K. Joseph in his introductory remarks welcomed all the participants to the Ashram. Shri Vijay Tambe Secretary of the Ashram addressed the inaugural session narrating the contemporary challenges. Smt. Ashaben Bothra , President of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan delivered an inspiration address reminding the teachers their responsibility as Gandhian educators . Shri A. Annamali, Director of National Gandhi Museum, New Delhi and trustee  of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan conducted the inaugural session .  Dr. Siby K. Joseph addressed the participants on the life and message of Gandhi with special reference to Wardha /Sevagram phase and life and contributions of Jamnalal Bajaj on March1 and 2 respectively.

  False Social Media Propaganda against Gandhi : A Factual Analysis    Siby K. Joseph     A false propaganda against Gandhi is gaining momentum through social media in connection with the allowance for the upkeep of Gandhi as a State Prisoner in 1930 by the British Government. Usually this type of propaganda coincides with Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday or martyrdom.  I received   a WhatsApp message a couple of days back from a person associated with a Gandhian organization for quite a long time.  I noticed that this message was forwarded many times.  It is as follows: “Finally, that letter was found in national records. In 1930, MK Gandhi was getting ₹100 per month from the British for personal expenses. At that time, the market price of 10 grams of gold was ₹18. Workshop sessions on Gandhi and Community Living

Workshop on Community  Living   and   Gandhi’s vision of Ashram On  18 th of July 2024 two workshop sessions were organized on  the following themes. The first one was Gandhi and experiments in Community Living and second one was his vision of an ashram .It was held    at the premises of Library and Research Centre of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan, Wardha. The workshop sessions were guided by Dr. Siby K. Joseph, Director of the Centre. It was conducted for a small group of enthusiastic young fellows from different parts of the country with varied interest and expertise . They are connected to Youth Alliance, New Delhi and Ritambhara, Kotagiri. The programme started with a brief introduction of participants. It was followed by a presentation of Dr. Siby K.
