International Dialogue by Marlene Eid

 

Prof. Marlene Eid made a presentation on " The Psychology of War and Peace in Palestine " as a part of the International Dialogue of the International Online Fellowship Program on Nonviolence and Peace (IFPNP) of Sevagram ashram Pratishthan and collaborating partners on January 24, 2025. Prof. Marlene Eid, Psychology Instructor attached to Portland Community College and producer of the documentary film “The Palestinian Exception” addressed the international audience through this platform. She is a Palestian lives in Oregon USA. In her heart touching presentation, she narrated the brutal and horrific occupation of Palestine territory by Israel.  She described Gaza as an open-air prison. She emphasized the need for ending the occupation of Gaza and the rebuilding of Gaza through support of all. The session was  chaired by Dr. Siby K. Joseph, Director of IFPNP, and facilitated by Prof. Michael Sonnleitner of Portland Community College. The session was moving and it ended with reciting of the poem “The Shelling Ended “written by Najwan Daewish by IFPNP fellow Prof. Suchitra Awasthi
