  Winter Camp/Short Term Course on Gandhian Thought for College/University Students Dignitaries and participants spinning the charkha at the inaugural session  Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan, Wardha organized the Winter Camp/Short Term Course on Gandhian Thought from 26 -30 December 2024 at the premises of the Ashram.  The objective of this short-term course/camp was to acquaint the students with the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi and its relevance in humanity’s current predicament. The inaugural function was held on the 26th morning at the Seminar Hall of   Library and Research Centre  of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan, Sevagram  . The camp was inaugurated by spinning the traditional Gandhi Charkha by the dignitaries and representatives of participants from different States of India.  Dr. Siby K.  Release of Pictorial Narrative of Gandhi’s presidential debut at Belgaum Congress Session 1924 Book  Cover On the occasion of centenary of Belgaum Congress Session Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan,  Wardha paid a  humble tribute to Mahatma’s legacy by officially releasing a publication   viz.The 1924 Belgaum Congress Session :A Pictorial Narrative of Mahatma Gandhi’s Presidential Debut.  This publication was a project of the library and research centre for Gandhian Studies of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan . The 1924 Belgaum Congress Session holds an iconic place in India’s struggle for independence and it was the 39th edition of the Indian National Congress, held in Belgaum (now Belagavi), Karnatakaon 26-27 December 1924.  Shyam Benegal, a renowned filmmaker and pioneer of Indian parallel cinema, passed away on Monday  December 23,2024 at the age of 90. He died at 6:30 pm at Wockhardt Hospital in Mumbai due to kidney-related complications . Benegal was known for his realistic storytelling and social commentary, which were reflected in his iconic films like Ankur (1973), Nishant (1975), Manthan (1976), and Bhumika (1977) .  His biographical film, The Making of the Mahatma (1996),showcased his ability to craft compelling stories about influential figures. The Making of the Mahatma is about the early life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi  during his 21 years in South Africa. The film is based upon the book The Apprenticeship of a Mahatma by Fatima Meer.
