Visit of the District Collector to Library and Museum premises


Shri. Rahul Kardile,  the Collector, Wardha, came to Sevagram Ashram and visited  the proposed  museum premises of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan on July 25, 2024. He was accompanied by  Shri Mahesh Mokalkar, Deputy Engineer, PWD and others . Shri Vijay Tambe , Secretary  of Sevagram Ashram briefly explained the current state of the premises .  After  that he  visited the library and research centre premises. The Secretary  explained the new activities the ashram is planning to undertake in these premises. 

 



Dr. Siby K. Joseph, Director of the Centre  briefed him about some of the ongoing activities of Library and Research Centre including the International Fellowship Programme on Nonviolence and Peace (IFPNP) and the Conference /Seminar associated with it.  During the visit to the library the collector interacted with  Prof. Basavaraj Akki  from Dharwad  who came for data collection and research guidance from the director of the centre. The Collector was happy to see the portrait painting exhibition of Mahatma Gandhi by a fellow of IFPNP first batch. This was the first  visit of the collector after Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan started the activities of the library and research centre from the new premises from April 30, 2023.

  False Social Media Propaganda against Gandhi : A Factual Analysis    Siby K. Joseph     A false propaganda against Gandhi is gaining momentum through social media in connection with the allowance for the upkeep of Gandhi as a State Prisoner in 1930 by the British Government. Workshop sessions on Gandhi and Community Living

Workshop on Community  Living   and   Gandhi’s vision of Ashram On  18 th of July 2024 two workshop sessions were organized on  the following themes. The first one was Gandhi and experiments in Community Living and second one was his vision of an ashram .It was held    at the premises of Library and Research Centre of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan, Wardha. The workshop sessions were guided by Dr. Siby K. Joseph, Director of the Centre. It was conducted for a small group of enthusiastic young fellows from different parts of the country with varied interest and expertise . They are connected to Youth Alliance, New Delhi and Ritambhara, Kotagiri. The programme started with a brief introduction of participants. It was followed by a presentation of Dr. Siby K.
