 Shri Chandan Pal elected as the President of Sarva Seva Sangh 




 

The 90 th session of Sarva Seva Sangh which began on November 6 concluded on November 7, 2023 at the Library and Research Centre premises of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan. In this session Shri Chandan Pal was reelected as the President of Sarva Seva Sangh for a period of 3 years . Shri Ramesh Oza was  the  chief  election officer and he  handed the certificate of election to Shri Chandan Pal as the President of Sarva Seva Sangh . Shri Chandan Pal was the only person who filled in  the application as per the rules and he was declared as elected unopposed . All the dignitaries present on the occasion and members of  different State Sarvodaya Mandals congratulated him on the occasion. Smt. Ashaben Bothra, President Sevagram Ashram Pratisthan, Shri TRN Prabhu, Trustee , Shri Vijay Tambe, Secretary , heads of various departments of the ashram and staff members  also joined them in congratulating him. Prof. Anandkumar also  congratulated Shri Chandan Pal and offered his support in  his mission in troubled times.






                                                                                     

 The demolition of Gandhian heritage at Varanasi was one of the key issues discussed in the session. It was decided to create new facilities for the functioning of activities of the Sangh  at Varanasi and offers  of financial  support came  from Sarvodaya Mandals of different states and individuals committed to Sarvodaya ideals. Shri Mohd Husein Farid Shaikh, Managing Trustee, Sarva Seva Sangh placed before the meeting Audit Report and informed that it is available for verification in the office of Sarva Seva Sangh, Sevagram.

 

 

The session discussed and passed resolutions on  three key issues. The first one was the conspiracy of the Government and Railways which ultimately led to the destruction of Gandhian Heritage at Rajghat ,Varanasi. The second one was on the tragedy of Manipur were innocent people lost their lives due to unprecedented violence the third one was on  Israel-Hamas War, Prof. Somnath Rode ,. Convener of Sarvodaya Samaj summed up discussions on these issues.

Shri. Chanadan Pal in his reply speech thanked everyone for selecting him again  for next three years. He placed a plan of action including programmes aimed at uniting secular democratic forces, reaching out to academicians, persons working in art, culture, media etc, promotion of constructive work and Gandhi’s Khadi, protecting constitution, fight against State sponsored destruction of heritage  as we witnessed in Varanasi,   rebuilding of Sadhana Kendra at Varanasi etc.  ShriGaurang Mahapatra, Secretary of Sarva Seva Sangh thanked everyone for their kind support and active participation. Shri  Avinash Kakade conducted the session. The programme came to an end with singing of We shall overcome by all participants and dignitaries present on the occasion. .  The meeting  had representatives of 15 States  of India.
