Tributes to Acharya Dharmanand Kosambi 







Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan (SAP), Wardha paid  rich tributes to Acharya Dharmanand Kosambi on the occasion of his 76th anniversary of his demise. A public meeting was organized at the Samadhi Sthal of Dharmanand Kosambi, Sevagram  on June 4,2023 at 7.30 am . The programme started with interreligious prayer   including  Buddhist prayers on the occasion. Dr. Ravindra Rukmini Pandharinath  gave a brief introduction about the programme. Smt Ashaben  Bothra, President of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan, addressed the gathering and paid tributes to Dharmanand Kosambi . She said he was  a prominent Buddhist Scholar inspired by teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.  While addressing the gathering  Shri  Pradeep Khelurkar, Secretary, SAP  reminded  the audience that we should not forget the fact that he was influenced by the teachings of Karl Marx. Shri  Vaibav Manohar  speaking on the occasion  portrayed the life and contributions of Dharmanand Kosambi .  Floral tributes  were given by all who were present in the  Sammadhi Sthal. More than 50 persons participated in the meeting.

 In the evening a national Seminar on  Dharmanand Kosambi was organised by Dr. Ravindra R. P.  welcomed speakers and gave a brief introduction about them. Prof.  Devkumar Ahire, Department of History, Savitribai Phule Pune University was the first speaker  who narrated the wonderful life journey  of Dharmananda Kosambi. Prof. Pradeep Gokhale, formerly Professor   Department of Philosophy and Pali , Savitribai Phule Pune University and Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi  was the next speaker . He deliberated on the theme concept of Buddhism according to Dharmanand Kosambi and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The webinar came to an end with the concluding remark of  Dr. Siby K. Joseph , Director, Sri Jamnalal Bajaj Memorial Library and Research Centre for Gandhian Studies , ASP .
