Visit of Havildar Anuj Kumar Taliyan

Havildar Anuj Kumar Taliyan of Madras Engineer Group – MEG (Madras Sappers), Indian Army,  visited the sevagram ashram on May 9, 2023. Smt. Ashaben Bothra, President of Sevagram Ashram Pratishthan welcomed him.

He is a world renowned body builder who won gold medal at the 11th World Bodybuilding Championships held at Jeju Island in South Korea. In addition, he  won the Mr India title in 2018 at the 12th National Body Building Championship. He also won gold medal at the 54th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2022 held in Maldives. 

Shri Anuj Kumar hails from a small village in churr, Meerut. The visit to the ashram was enriching experience for him. It reminded him the memories of his  village. He wrote in the visitors diary of the ashram in Hindi

मैं आज सेवाग्राम में आया हूँ।  और यहापर आकर मुझे अपने पुराने घरों की याद आयी और बापूजी जिन्होंने देश को आजाद करने में इतना बड़ा योगदान दिया उनके हम बहुत बहुत आभारी है। उन्ही की वजह से आज हम आजाद है। और उनका रहना सहना सब कुछ इतना साधारण था की उनसे हमे सिखने को मिल रहा है की हमे बिलकुल जमीन से जुड़ा रहना चाहिए।  उनका ओफिस, कुटी और चरखा भी देखने को मिला।  मैं बहुत खुश हूँ की आज मैं सेवाग्राम में आया।

 I came to Sevagram today and coming here reminds me of my old homes. We are very grateful to Bapuji who made great contribution in liberating the country. Because of him we are free today. His stay  and everything here  were so simple and from that we can  learn that we should be completely connected to the earth. I could also see his office, cottage and spinning wheel

 I am very happy that I came to Sevagram today.
